NOT BLUE... WHITE!

Whilst out taking photographs of the Bluebells I noticed a couple of plants were pure white. Thinking that they were just 'white' Bluebells I only bothered to take a few images!

I know that the Spanish Bluebell, an invading species, can be found in a range of colours from the usual blue through mauve and pink to white. I've since learned, with the help of Roy at Roy's Nature Logbook, that our native White Bluebells are rather quite rare.

So, I thought I'd share a couple of images.

It is a lovely treat to see white bluebells, there is a small clump of them in a churchyard that I walk through regularly. They are not the spanish ones I don't think, anyway they are lovely as are your photos :)

Thanks Poppy. It's good to see a wonderful display of our native Bluebells, not so good to see those Spanish invaders though!...[;o)
