This is the final part of the series relating to my fungi
and bird watching outings after the mini heat wave that we experienced around
the beginning of the month.(it seems a long time ago now!)
So, here are some more fungi images (please feel free to
click away if they are not your thing) and as usual the ID's are not 100%
certain, please correct me if I'm wrong!

And to finish are two images of a Slime Mould (enteridium
lycoperdon). These images were taken ten days apart and you can see in the
second image where the outer covering is
breaking down to reveal, and ultimately release, the spores from inside.
Sorry for the fungi overload but I thought it best to get them out of the system in one go instead of spreading the boredom over a couple of posts!

Wow, a great collection of fungi, that is one of the best. You could write a book on it, illustrated.
A superb set........I know the unidentified one as Brain fungus......It could be Beech Jelly Disc Neobulgaria pura.

Not sure about the ID, my books all have the Beech Jelly Disc looking more 'see through' and jelly like!...[;o)

So do mine look jelly like but they don't feel like jelly in real life.....I posted a Tiered Tooth fungus on Wildaboutbritain. That's what someone said it was.
They are the very devil to identify. Apparently Brain Fungi are usually yellow. I've only seen white.
Adrian, this one's really bugging me , so much so I'm just off to see if it's still there and maybe after a closer study things will be a little clearer!...I'll let you know...[;o)

From what I can remember you were feeling a little under the weather, I hope you feel better soon. There was also a mention of tripe? Some people will tell you that I've been uttering total tripe for ages...lol...[;o)
Wonderful images. I have only seen Earthballs and Birch Polypore in numbers this year.

Thanks Andrew. Yeh, I think it's been a poor year for fungi in general this year (certainly around this area)I think it's down to the dry weather we've been experiencing...[;o)
