The main reason that I’ve not done a post till now is due to a large dose of apathy brought on by starting the year off with a mega cold/flu(?) that lasted from Boxing day through the most of the first three weeks of January. Then for the last couple of weeks it’s been a matter of finding the time, there seems to have been lots of those little important jobs that couldn’t be left any longer and needed to be done. The third reason/excuse is that, although I’ve been out and about on a few occasions (most times with Keith), I’ve not managed to take many decent photographs.
So, after all of the excuses here’s a few almost half decent images!
This first one was taken on New Years Day when Keith and I, after visiting RSPB Titchwell in Norfolk, went to the nearby Holkham Nature Reserve. The day day had turned cold and wet with a steady downpour, it wasn’t doing my cold any good! Little did we expect to find this many people out in the cold and the rain, the road is about a mile long, there were so many cars and people that we had difficulty finding anywhere to park the car!

You are seriously rivalling Douglas with these shots. they are beautifully composed. I like the birds if pairs and the symmetry in the last shot.

Trevor, were you swinging that lens of his your Flu would have been a thing of the past a long time in the past.

I struggle to lift the 400mm onto the tripod.
Have you thought of selling the house and getting the new Canon 200-400 with extender built in. I see the sports snappers have gone this route.
I hope you back to full health now Trevor, I have driven past Holkham in the summer and it was believe it or not nowhere near as busy as that in your image.

Adrian, Douglas is definitely a master of his art.
I think the nearest that I'll ever get to that 200-400 is the few intimate moments I had with one at the Bird Fare last year, it sure is a thing to envy...now, where did I put that lottery ticket?...[;o)

Maybe the car park charges at Holkham, which if I remember rightly were rather steep, we 'forgot' to pay btw, keeps the punters away in the summer?

Yes you have to pace yourself especially after a cold in winter, no need to do anything stupid like rushing off out as soon as you think its clear. Although generally mild, the damp weather will do nobody any good and have we had some damp weather.!!
Look forward to images from your exploits as soon as the weather bucks up and Spring starts to arrive.
Carole, lots of people around the country are suffering with the flood water at the moment and there seems to be no let up in sight for the wet weather. Fortunately I live in an area that doesn't suffer from flooding (I hope!) Think I'll stay indoors in the dry and the warm though!...[;o)
Thank you Roy. The trouble with staying indoors is that after a while I start to get 'stir crazy' and just have to get out, despite the weather. I'm hoping that Spring is just around the corner!...[;o)
