YeeeESS!....AT LAST!

After  thinking that I may have missed out for another year in not being lucky enough to see a Clouded Yellow Butterfly today must have been my lucky day as I managed to see three in an area less than two miles from home...they must have been there waiting all the time?

Not the best photographs...but I think you'll agree they're beautiful butterflies and a pleasure to see.

Male

Female

Maybe I'll go back tomorrow and try for some better images!

A couple of crackers Trev.

Shame they weren't so co-operative today. :-(

They sure did Adrian, thank you...[;o)

It's been a long time waiting Peter! Glad you like the header...[;o)

Thanks Douglas...[;o)

Hi Grace..Yeh, sometimes my photographs need more than a new pair of glasses to make them look good...lol
I can't believe that this is the first time ever that I've seen these stunning butterflies!
Are they resident in your area? They're migrants here and fly over from France in varying numbers every year, this is a GOOD year!...[;o)

Thanks Keith. Yeh, it was a shame they didn't want to play today, perhaps you'll be lucky and find some Welsh ones later?...[;o)

Very well done Trevor.

I watched 3 in flight today but couldn't find any on the ground!

Fantastic Trevor, I'm glad you got to see them.
These are pretty good images anyway without looking for more. There are apparently quite a few 'helice' females around this year as well.
Just thought I would set you a new target.{:))

Wonderful to see Trevor (I haven't. Thought I had one in Norfolk this week but it was a Brimstone but I was still chuffed as I only seem to get them early in Cheshire.

Thank you Frank. Fast aren't they?...[;o)

Thanks Roy. yeh I was really pleased to 'find' them. I went back, with Keith, the next day but only saw one as it whizzed by at a great rate of knots!
I'll keep an eye out for that 'special' one, I can't be that lucky, can I?...[;o)

Thanks Andrew, I hope you find one soon, they're beautiful butterflies to see...[;o)

Wow, they look fabulous. I have never seen one, but would really like to (are they easier to photograph than moths)! xx

Thanks Heather, beauties aren't they?
They're strong fliers (they migrate from the continent, some years in large numbers and some years not so many, this was a good year!) and zoom around about two feet from the ground!
I'm still working on the moths!!...lol...[;o)
