A VIDEO FOR THE WEEKEND

This video is a selection of clips I've taken whilst out and about, since getting the camera a few weeks ago, of various birds and their behaviour.

Now, I've got to admit that it's not the  best video in the world as I'm still trying to get to grips with the workings of said camera while also getting my head around the editing program on the computer.  It's  a steep learning curve for a little brain!

Anyway here's my best effort (so far)!!

BIRDS BEHAVING....WELL,....AS BIRDS DO!

A Jackdaw eating sheep!
A Cormorant hanging it all out to dry!
Starlings aerating my lawn.
House Sparrows getting a little piece of the sun.
Mr and Mrs Shoveler. Looking for the soap?
A Pied Wagtail having a stretch.
A Carrion Crow.  Looking for one of Keith's apple cores?

Note:- The house Sparrow clip was taken through my kitchen window and the ticking you can hear is from the clock on the wall. Strange thing is I can be in and out of the kitchen many times a day and never hear the clock but the camera 'heard' it perfectly!

All the best and enjoy your weekend, whatever you're doing.

Great video of birds being birds Trevor.
Those Jackdaws don't look very gentle as they peck away at the sheep; but my favourites are the Crows.
Really looking for something there wasn't he.

Thanks Keith. The Sheep didn't seem to notice the Jackdaws, I guess they were just pleased for the tidy up!

It's amazing to see just how much power Crows have in their beaks...[;o)

Nothing wrong with this video......It kept me amused. I've seen jackdaws and crows on sheep before but they seemed to be collecting wool for a nest. These sheep need a spray. They must be alive with tics.
A great shot of the cormorant....a real beauty.

Wonderful to see Trevor a lovely clip to view.
My Dslr let me down last summer and I only had a camcorder for a couple of weeks.
My current post is of one of my first videos.
A link to the rest on the right of my blog.
Take care..

HI Trevor...Dear me I got a kick out this video..lol That Crow was so funny to watch him toss those clumps around, the sheep are a bit unkempt, but the didn't look unfed...I have never seen anything like those birds picking at the sheep made me laugh...love the whole thing!! ; }
Is there any possibility you would have a still photo of these sheep...my daughter has a flock of sheep or as she calls them her babies...I know she would love to have a photo of this happening...I love the sheep with the speckles looking straight ahead at you..to,to,funny!!

Thank you Andrew.
Yeh, I keep 'tabs' on your posts and videos, I reckon I've still got a way to go to reach your standard though!...];o)

Hi Grace, thank you, I'm glad you liked the video.

Unfortunately I've got no stills of the sheep and Jackdaw, I'm afraid I got carried away in taking the video and forgot to take any! (it was only the second time out with the camcorder, new toy and all that!!)

But...what I could do is take some screen grabs from the video for you, they won't be very good quality though. If you send me your email address I'll be glad to do that for you. (My email address is on my profile) Cheers...[;o)

You are certainly getting to grips with this filming lark Trevor.

Roy, I'm getting there, slowly but surely, it's a bit of a steep learning curve at the moment though!...[;o)

Great video Trevor, the heading is of course, the Jackdaw eating off the happy shewep, and what about the Shovelers, beauty at the best.

A great and interesting video, Trevor. The sheep were so patient...
I find it quite a challenge to keep a video camera still while taking a recording, that's not easy and requires to get the knack. I'm looking forward to see more! :-)

Thanks for dropping by Petra, and for your kind comments. Yeh, there's still more practice needed with the camera skills, I'll keep trying!...[;o)
